They Trust Us

Our one and only Sponsored athlete who embodies our values and purpose... Emilia Phillips, you're a superstar!!!! Reposted from @emiliaphillips - GPC Nationals. My first comp in over a year. My first comp after about 8 months off. I came off the platform after my last lift and cried because it’s very easy to doubt yourself after having time off due to personal reasons.
Yesterday I faced my biggest challenge as a lifter, myself. For some reason squats and I just weren’t friends and I only got one of my three squats for the first time ever.
I was not going to let that ruin my day, not a chance in hell!! I remained calm, continued on and did what I was there to do... work! I was able to pick myself up and go 3/3 on my bench and deadlift.
I knew there’d be no PBs yesterday and I achieved exactly what I wanted... have fun and reignite the hunger to compete.
My results were;
S: 205kg
B: 100kg (95kg vid)
D: 222.5kg
πŸ₯‰ and a pretty bronze medal
I had a blast sharing the platform with @kazzabe17 for the first time. Congratulations on an amazing day.
Coach @alexdekenpl and boss man Andrew. Thank you not only for your support yesterday, but always. You made yesterday so easy despite the initial heart attack I probably gave you both.
To the @ptcsouthmelbourne crew, you guys are truly the best gym family. Whether you were there or messaging me throughout the day... there was just so much love!
A huge thank you to my husband @therealjyephillips for not only having to put up with the train wreck of nerves I was this week, but for helping me get back on track over the last year.
Mum and dad. Mum cried again and again as dad sat there in proud silence expanding his knowledge of the sport that is powerlifting. I couldn’t ask for better or more uniquely amazing parents if I tried.
@celestinebettiol, @jessicaong8 and @emmabuis22... girls thank you for making the trip interstate to cheer me on. It truly means the world to me!
And last but certainly not least, my sponsor @alphabioscan. Your support and the genuine belief you have in me is more than I could ever ask for. -
